So why are memes important?

I find memes not only a source of funny entertainment when I’m bored but a quick and effective way to communicate ideas that contain emotive elements without having to own a television studio.  People identify with the picture (as they have seen it before), and are able to quickly put the differences in a unique context. Its also a way to make people feel connected by illustrating common thoughts on such a simple medium. The meme world is only growing and I could not be happier.

The “Me Gusta” Guy…

The “Me Gusta” Guy is a character that is typically used to respond to an awkward or disgusting event with “Me Gusta,” which means, “it pleases me” in Spanish (often understood as “I like it” in English). This meme character is my favorite; not only because of its hilarious face but also for how much it relates to simple things people find pleasure full that you would necessarily talk about. Here are a few simple examples.

Arguably the best feeling ever lol

The cold side of a pillow... so true

The “Y U No” Guy…

“Y U NO” Guy is a character using desperate body language and carefree grammar as a way to bring someone’s attention on a particular subject or issue. It is extremely relatable because it’s used when you want to tell a person who is wrong or naive, “How do you not see what I am talking about!” It’s the meme that shows a person’s inner arguer when you know you are right or someone is stubbornly wrong. It can also be used when you are just simple frustrated about something not going your way. An example in my life where this meme applies is when girls complain about how cold it is outside and they are wearing short pants and a tank top. I just want to get in their face and say “Y U No put on cold clothes like normal people!” Here are some examples.

I swear this has happened to me before at school...

The Forever Alone Guy…

The Forever Alone Guy is a lonesome character that is used to express loneliness and disappointment with life. Creators of this variety of rage comic occasionally alter one word or both of the words “forever alone” for a more humorous effect. This character is used for those relatable situations where everyone sometimes feels alone. This meme is also has a bright side cause it shows that some lonely situations are common and that you shouldn’t feel like the only one in them. Here are some funny examples.

                                  Oh so sad lol

The F*ck Yea Guy…

Fuck Yea Guy is a self-complacent looking character used to express pride or victorious sentiments, like when you wake up a few seconds before the morning alarm goes off. Another example is the way you present yourself while walking out of an exam you knew you aced. A common feeling that relates to this character is when your sitting in class and throw a paper ball across the room and make it the small garbage can. The entire class locks back at you and you feel like an NBA star, how are you posing?, just like the F*ck Yea guy. This is also one of the most popular meme characters.

(Sorry for the language)

The Troll Face…

The Troll face, a.k.a. “Coolface” is a character used to imply one’s intention to troll another. “Trolling” is the art of deliberately, cleverly, and secretly pissing people off, usually via the Internet, using dialogue. Trolling does not mean just making rude remarks: Shouting swear words at someone doesn't count as trolling; it's basically just pushing peoples buttons for the fun of it (we all know we have done it). Here are some examples of the Troll face used right.
